Past
I was raised in a humble neighborhood, surrounded by the grim reality of struggling to pay the bills or barely afford food. Studying was a luxury for me, so I had to work hard to afford my education. I had to deal with a lot of uncertainty, and I climb my way up the social ladder. However, I always kept going and improved myself a bit every day. These small but continuous efforts took me way further than I could ever imagine. This shaped my identity as a designer; I realized that I could use my experience to help others to improve themselves as well by sharing and working with my insights and experience.
Something that influenced my vision as a designer is my 3 years of education at the Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) at the TU/e before starting the ID bachelor. This gave me a strong technical background that made me realize the power that lies within technology to help humanity. EE also gave me a better understanding of the different engineering disciplines, enabling me to understand the value of multidisciplinary in design.
